Project 891, a detailed design and engineering study carried out in the 1990s on a medium (40-50K tons) aircraft carrier. It features conventional propulsion and steam catapults and can carry around 50 aircraft. The project is code named 891 because the expert group for the project was first formed in January of 1989.
