A bit of a stretch but could these ships be used for seabed warfare too? It has submersibles, has cranes, and apparently some working area. It looks a bit like the UK's new seabed warfare ship.

Not a stretch at all. The basic layout and equipment are very similar, so re-purposing it would probably not be much of an effort.
