Just asking because its strange to see consumer level whiteware on a warship that's all. Wasn't an attack or anything.
China makes commercial laundry machines, so it is not for lack of. But yes, strange.

Why wouldn't they be commercial washing machines? Does a warship need "military grade" washing machines, and what exactly would those be (besides being 10x the price)? That's the kind of thinking that gets you $1,200 coffee cups.
Commercial laundry machines do come in various sizes, like 20Kg machine, 14 Kg or 10kg machines. How certain are you that these are not commercial grade washing machines? Space on a warship is very limited, smaller size machines as pictured fit the available space in that room on type 052D.Why do they not have commercial laundry machines? Those look like OTS you get at a mall.
Wonderful pics-As for the dryers-JUST EMPTY THE LINT TRAPS before every use and there will never be a problem.Whenever I see so many laundry machines in one place, I get really worried about the risk of a fire, especially from the dryers. I hope there's a fire extunguisher nearby on both the Burke and the Type 052D...
Ah yea those ones on the Liaoning and Burke are definitely what I expected to find. Very cool.On a brief search, I can find...

.... I think the laundry machines on the 052D is fine, and they look like they have enough for redundancy lol.
And the PLAN do have more industrial laundry machines, like on Liaoning here, but they've chosen to use the specific models as seen on 052D.
