Agree, but it's very attention grabbing. Plus the intervention in Syria and to a lesser extent Libya. And all the close encounters at sea and in the air. Russia's attracted so much unnecessary attention to itself that formerly borderline pacifist Nordic nations are considering boosting their defence spending. The same discussions and concerns are also being raised in the major western European powers.

Taking back Crimea was reaction to US backed coup in Ukraine. Anyway, what's not yours, won't be yours. Russia taking back Crimea was not unexpected. It was only a matter of time.
