And if you go Saigon, even nowadays, they would tell you they are "not the same bunch" as the Hanoi ones, they just hold the same passport.
The point is, a bunch of people doing "what is necessary" to keep certain "political flavor" of something like "build a monument", is just for the sake of that political flavor - they simply don't meant for it.
Stuff like monument in N.K and N.V alike, are more like a stage show nowadays. N.K for example, they demolished ALL of the People's Volunteer Army's monuments during the period when China and Soviet "have a difference"; and they rebuilt those monuments, when Soviet collaps and the "International Aid" stops coming.
"Let them dance / jump..." I say this like most of the rest of Chinese people, they simply choose the role as "permanent PAWNs (of others)".
