Wouldn't it be better to put the exhaust on the roof? With the current setup any troops coming out the back and turning left will get hit with a faceful of exhaust fumes.

You could but why bother. I mean it’s not like they will be sucking down those fumes for more than a second. It’s not that big a deal.

According to a very reliable Weibo user, the PLA is testing a small-caliber (42mm?) gun-fired guided missile. The attached images are from a NORINCO research paper on a similar concept (45mm). Note the maneuverable surfaces are located in the middle of the missile.

One concern I've always had about the PLA is lack of training or preparation for war.

I watched this video in which Chinese peacekeepers were killed in South Sudan:

POC1 was left increasingly unprotected—a problem that deteriorated in particular after the Chinese peacekeepers took casualties. First, the pedestrian gate was left open and unguarded; SPLA soldiers could have walked in unobstructed. Then, as fighting resumed on the morning of July 11, Chinese peacekeepers abandoned their posts in POC1 entirely, withdrawing into the core UN House base. While fleeing, some peacekeepers left behind weapons and ammunition that were taken, at least temporarily, by IDP youth

Thoughts? From what I've seen, it seems like the PLA still has work to do.
