Hey, why did the rocket force get left out? (as well as strategic support force)
The PLARF is probably still reeling from the recent corruption purges of its highest levels, so they probably aren't in the mood, lol.
But even without said factor, they already have their newest toy to play with, namely the IRBM-ranged DF-27 HGV. Not yet mentioned are several even better toys that are currently WIP for the ex-2nd Artillery Corps:
- 1x next-gen ICBM;
- 2x or 3x next-gen IRBMs (or derivatives);
- 1x or 3x next-gen SRBM/MRBMs (or derivatives); and
- An unknown number of hypersonic missiles;
Alongside the recent skyrocketing of nuclear warhead production right now. So, there's that.
In the meantime, the PLASSF excels not in terms of physical, meant-to-be-seen warfighting assets e.g. tanks, bombers or aircraft carriers. Their domains of warfare are exclusively focused in the electromagnetic, cyber, information and outer-space spectrums. All of these domains are meant to be obscure, invisible and confidential to the public eye.

PLARF typically stay out of the limelight by their own choosing, so if they hit the press it's either there's really something to flaunt or there's major screw up.
Just some addendum:
Other than the "Amry will be getting new boots this year!!" jokes - Well, I do believe we need to do some justice for the PLAGF as well, lol.
While the PLAAF will be getting their next-gen bombers and the PLAN will be getting their next-gen aircraft carrier - For starters, the PLAGF will be waiting for their next-gen main battle tanks, apart from the IFVs that they just got their hands on recently, plus the incoming next-gen heavy attack helicopter.
Beyond the above, the PLAGF is also working on what I can sum up below:

In fact, China is the only country in the world right now that has both mastered and deployed the latest (4th-gen) MRLS. The PLAGF is literally "HGV-izing" their MRLS. @深秋不是鸡腿子 on Bilibili provided a pretty throughout explanation on the matter:
So, yeah - The PLAGF do be getting their own new toys.
(Though, if only we can also have some kind of 1000-1500 kilometer-range MRLS that can flood the skies across the Tibetan Plateau and/or the Sea of Japan on the cheap... But, that's probably going to need a long while.)

Can we add the upcoming heavy attack helicopters to PLAGF or would those fall under a different branch? There was also that supposedly super large 8 or 16-wheel artillery we saw a drawing(?) of a couple of years ago but I haven't heard of it since.
