Almost all tanks have the same problem. Their hulls are all vulnerable to auto cannon fire (20+ mm) from the side to a large extent. The lower front plate is also butter usually, with rare exceptions like the M1 et al.. Most command operations centers look similar due to similar organizational requirements and equipment, if you look at Cold War era command stations they too look similar to each other even from different and opposing nations.
