Trying to make a "Family tree" for HQ-9 family, what do you guys think ? Am i missing a variant ?

View attachment 163070

The problem with a family tree is that we don't actually know the relationship between the major variants (land, land/export, naval).

For example, we know HQ-9B, HQ-9BE, and HHQ-9B all exist, but is the relationship one where they are all successive variants of their respective land, land/export, naval versions in a vertical fashion, or are those three variants all related to each other "laterally"?

Given such major gaps in knowledge exist, it's probably better to actively avoid making images or diagrams, because images for incomplete or inaccurate information can be disseminated too easily.

Shouldn't the sea-based systems have -B and -C variants as well?

There are C, which yes recently displayed, but i havent included it yet. B tho, kinda bit mysterious here. Even the land based one there arent really much in terms of information. The only visible thing is the TEL, Radar and supporting vehicle and if lucky sometime export brochure.

Understandable but, i think if one actually want a discussion, such family tree or "lineup" could be a start. Hopefully more knowlegdable folks will join.
