What happened to the J-6s?

There were rumors that the PLAAF was working on turning the J-6s into drones. There were even talks about how swarms of such drones can occupy the adversary's air defense systems for the manned strikers to go in safely. I think so far there has been no such "J-6 based drone" spotted though.

Was that rumor just a fanboy fantasy? Or was the project cancelled early on?

It's real ... they were converted to B-6 UCAVs

Around 200 retired J-6/Mig-19 fighters are thought to have been converted to UAVs as B-6 (J-6W?) drones. The aircraft had the wing-root 30mm guns, ejection seat and other life support systems removed. New remote flight control, navigational (

That RAND chart doesn't seem to have accounted for those 150+ J-10B/C, does it?

I think China should have at least 1000 4th gen by now...

Not really sure, but it seems as if the 2016's Golden Helmet went to a J-10B-diver / J-10B-unit !??

2016年金头盔获得者,之前网上小白瞎扯什么歼-10全输,看看杨朝辉那幅图----歼-10B。(共分五个组,聂健男和吴其君是苏-30机组)

Be nice if the Golden Helmet pilot's J-10B used WS-10. It'd provide credibility and confidence for the engine.

Impossible ... we know that all operational B are using the AL-31FN Series 3.

But J-11Bs winning golden helmet don't?

Pardon !??? Where is in that text I posted - assuming it is correct - something written about the J-11B ??

I recall that a J-11B won the golden helmet another time, and have won other air exercises before, so I was pointing out why the J-11B's successes didn't validate the WS-10.
