NORAD detected, tracked, and intercepted two Russian TU-95 and two PRC H-6 military aircraft operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on July 24, 2024. NORAD fighter jets from the United States and Canada conducted the intercept.
In March, NORAD commander Gen. Gregory M. Guillot warned that "we haven’t seen Chinese aircraft operate near our air defense identification zones yet, but I think that that’s coming as early as this year."
A first for H-6.
Those Y-20s that flew to Ugolny Airport in Anadyr of the Russian Far East sometime ago were probably evaluating and preparing forward staging grounds for H-6 operations (as a refueling stop en route to the US) and/or YY-20 operations (as staging ground for YY-20s to conduct mid-air refueling for the H-6s over Kamchatka/Bering/Arctic en route to the US).
