Nice, so for others who can't tell, the helmets in the first post quoted are the J-20 HMD, and the helmets in the second post quoted are the J-16 HMD.

Note that the images of the J-16 HMD clearly show a single projector over the right eye so it is a monocular HMD. We've seen that before as well, but this is just further clear confirmation.

We cannot clearly see whether the J-20 HMD is monocular or binocular, but from past info display on it, it should be binocular.

Is there any added benefit with adding the dragon scale motif? I remember seeing a scale motif on tanker overalls somewhere, but I still wonder what their utility is. Would any of the more knowledgeable members know? :)

According to the video, it's done for fashion. There are two flight suit design themes: dragon and eagle. The dragon flight suits have the scale motifs, and the eagle has wing motifs on the upper sleeves, back, and thighs.
