Interesting development. Maybe in the future they might end deployments by landing at chinese air bases for resupply. Long missions like that might be easier to land near Shanghai or Guangzhou.
Russia can start by purchasing a Type 003 EMALS CATOBAR to replace their half-dead Admiral Kutnetsov. In fact, China should donate Liaoning training carrier to Russia so life can come full circle.

no way China would donate its first carrier, my bet would be a theme park sometime in the future, the only question remain is where…

I, too, think China rather want Russia to acquire something more akin to 003 than the Kuznetsov class.

Who is Russia? Putin win never do that. If he does, he will lose big face. That simply will never happen.
Russia was going to purchase two (2) French-made helicopter carriers (Mistral-class) until Crimea happened.

Putin wasn't embarrassed by purchasing NATO hardware, why would he be embarrassed from purchasing Chinese hardware? China is a second superpower and prestigious nation with highly advanced manufacturing and capabilities.

To most people outside of Asia, most of people don’t see China that way. Sad

The deal was buy two, build two. Some of the sections of the first two were even built at St. Petersburg. That was supposed to give them experience for when construction started there.

Given the experience the Russians had with that program I doubt they would try to buy whole systems from someone else again. Components, they do that already.

I think that's the best part. Way back when China was just getting into conflict with the SCS they called Chinese cowards and would never dare. Then the artificial reefs happened and they could not believe it, then they said the tech would be useless till the americans started backing off. They were dumbfounded. Then the quad came and everyone wet their panties, once again the hypersonic glide vehicles came on and shit started mixing with their precum... Now Russia and China combining Hypersonic WMDs as the apocalypse tank said "They will run in fear"

That's France, not China. If Russia simply want the carrier without caring anything else, it could purchase the type 075 but that never happens. Why? Because China traditionally is Russia's buyer, its market.
