How much bigger is Y-30 compared to Y-9?

just a rumour at this stage and the payload is estimated 30-40 metric tons (almost double the Y-9 which is 20), also rumoured to be powered by 4x AEP400/500 which is much more modern and powerful than 4x WJ-6C turboprops

30t IMO, is already on the higher end if they also want reasonable range. A400M uses much more powerful engines and can only achieve a maximum of 37t payload@3300km.

a tuboprop powered C390 would fit in nicely within the PLA transport fleet, but might raise the need for yet another transport aircraft a Y-7 replacement which MA-700 or it's engines could fulfill (sino AN-132/32).

Y30 may be a smaller version of A400M that not fit for GX roles. Ideal solution is to use 2 WS20IPE to create a smaller version of 757 / Tu204.
