Isn't this done sorry of KJ-200 variant instead of an ECM/ELINT aircraft? I.E. why does it have a balance beam antenna?

It looks like it, but it isn't.

So, to elaborate -- yes, this aircraft has a balance beam antenna, but it isn't KJ-200.

This is a new aircraft type, and just because it has a balance beam antenna doesn't mean it is the same radar system as on KJ-200 (if you look closely at the new balance beam array versus the balance beam radar system on KJ-200, it's actually different).

A balance beam configuration is just a configuration of a radar, just like how a rotodome configuration is just a configuration of a radar.

We finally have a clear image of an operational PLAAF Y-9LG (Y-8GX-18) ECM/ELINT type and according to its serial number 30211, it is assigned to the 20th Specialised Division, 58th Air Regiment based at Guiyang-Leizhuang (STC).

Another one from the Joint Sino-Thai exercise. Posted by @疯子白杨 on Weibo.

So this is what we originally (and wrongly) thought to be the KJ-200B in February last year?
