Agree with this. Even the slightest hint of a militarized version and the foreign components especially the US parts are going to dry-up.

There is not going to be any militarized version of the C919 until full domestication.

I understood that C919 contains a mass of foreign components to make use of the maintenance facilities for those components available at many placed around the World. A militarized version could substitute Chinese components that should be available, or perhaps Russian ones, to build the production and maintenance experience necessary to choose these in later Chinese civilian aircraft.

What is the station time of the KJ-500 (Y-9) ? I read its only a few hours. If that's true then why build so many just wait for the new Y-20 based AWACS.

You probably confused it with KJ2000 which has 5 hr endurance . Turboprop engine is fuel efficient that is why they were used on this type of surveillance aircraft Orion P3 is one example
According to Global security it has 8 hr endurance It has 5000 km range and average speed of 550km/hr
Freighter "Y-9" has increased volume of fuel up to 20 tons, the practical flight range increased from 3,000 km to 5,000 km, and the flight of 8 hours. Also note that the length of the aircraft with 33 m was increased to 36 meters, making it possible to add additional equipment and personnel. When the rotation of staff, a large area of the aircraft allows the crew to rest during the tasks.
