So no. 3 was renumbered from 12-003 to 13-003 ??

If you ask me personally I think it's 12-003 and not 13-003 but then it could be that it has changed, it says 003 on the nose cone I am a bit suspicious about that too I guess we will have to wait and see

I believe the 4th unit is due in the summer good time for when JF-17 Block II comes along

Just a quetion regarding the operational unit, since I'm not entirely sure: is it correct the 32nd (Fighter Ground Attack) Wing - 4th Squadron at Masroor ?? and what's the name (and badge) of that unit ??

Yes they are with 4th Sqaudron at PAF Masroor here is a pic of the Sqaudron they are afflicted to the 32nd TAW

Good question I would also like to know the name and the badge they are wearing but can't make it out

It's the same story for the Erieye Sqaudron which is No. 3 Sqaduron based at PAF Minhas Affiliated to 33rd TA, also the MRTT Sqaduron No. 10 with the Midas tankers and the VIP Sqaudorn No.12 at PAF Chaklala no name and no badge! Here's a good website with the order of battle

There are rumors around on PAF circles that talks are on the way for further acquisition either 4 more ZDK-03s or KJ-500s.

There are rumors around on PAF circles that talks are on the way for further acquisition either 4 more ZDK-03s or KJ-500s.

My personal opinion is that we wasted over $1 billion on those balance beam Erieyes we should have just gone for the KJ-200, for that price I reckon we could get like 10 x KJ-200 units but when we signed the deal with Swedan Chinese AWACS capability was not matured and not up to the standard, now all that has changed for equal if not better capability for lower price and fast delivery with no strings attached why buy Western equipment?

From now on all Pakistan purchases will be Chinese origin adding more AWACS to the fleet can only be good for Pakistan

Get those four ZDK-03 for $250 million and they are said to be just as good as Erieye!

That was the very reason, PAF reduced the Erieyes numbers from 7 to 4 only due to he great performance of KJ-200s, same scenario of JF-17 to F16 blk52s.

Yeah I would say Erieyes cover Northern Command ZDK-03 covers Southern Command and another 4 AWACS covers the middle section say at PAF Rafiqui which means we can cover entire Eastern border all the way from the North to the Indian Ocean

AWACS can not only detect fighters but also small boats in rivers troops movements and radar installations very useful assets to have modern AWACS are very powerful
