is China working on E-8 type battlefield surveillance aircraft? (KJ-3000?)
while this may be speculation, but huitong claim a single TU-154 surveillance aircraft carry SAR,can perform "limited" SAR/MTI operation.
and since majority of PLA wish list were mirror image of pentagon weapon procurement program.I am not be surprise if chinese version E-8 type appear in the web.since the available technology already exist.

It is said that JZY-1 carrier borne AWACS demonstrator has made her maiden flight last year.

Interesting...but there is nothing new in that article in terms of pictures that we haven't already seen.

The only aircraft shown in the pics with its engines running was an E-2C Hawkeye of the US Navy.

If they have done so, I am anxious to see the photos of one flying. And will believe it even more, when I see one practising landing and taking off from the props at the Chinese Naval Aviation Center.

Interesting that the Y8 is the only one with a big search radar.
Well it is the only one that has a radar mounted in that fashion.

The US Navy P-8 mounts a

, while the Indian P-8I will have an international version of that same radar.

The JMSDF P-1 has a Toshiba HPS-106 Active Electronically Scanned Array air & surface search radar with four antennae arrays.

The latest US Navy P-3s have a AN/APS-137B(V)5 Radar, which is a pre-cursor to the APY-10 Radar on the P-8.

I think you mean the F-117 because there is no such thing as F-119 unless you're talking the turbofan. Also F-117 AFAIK do not carry AAMs, guns etc nor does it have external pylons so I'm not sure how it would shoot down anything. If someone fashion an external pylon for the F-117s to carry AIM-9s than for sure AWACS would detect it since the external pylons would not be stealthy.

As to the general statement of your post I do agree that the USAF did use the F-117s in exercises against AWACS and I do remember reading somewhere about the E3s not seeing them on screen.

Since the 1980s there has been a question about the F-19 designation and rumors of a never admitted to fighter, developed by the Lockheed skunk works, that was operational in very limited numbers.

Perhaps that is what they are talking about.

But it has never been taked about, admitted to, or described officially.

Most rumors, and supposed inside "leaks" say it looks like this:

A couple of model companies even made 1/72 scalle models of it in the latter 1980s.
