Iran Inaugurates Production Line of HAFEZ Radar System

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran inaugurated the production line of HAFEZ radar system on Sunday in the presence of Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami.
"The radar systems can discover and trace aerial targets, including stealth planes, fighter jets and cruise missiles, from low to very high altitudes," Hatami said, addressing a ceremony to inaugurate the production line of the radar systems.

"Tracing ARM missiles is among the other features of these radar systems," he said, adding that the systems are being delivered to Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base.

Noting that 'Hafez' radar system is a 3D phased array explorer radar which can discover and trace targets from 250km in distance and engage with multiple targets, Hatami said the system can be mounted on Mersad defense system.

He said the radar is completely tactical and has a 24-hour operational capability, adding that it enjoys operational efficiency in electronic warfare, in environments filled with parasite and jamming waves and in different weather conditions.

The General said that the system can trace 100 targets and update their situational information in a few seconds to send it to the defense system.

The tactical radar system which can be installed and put into operation in a short period of time do not emit any radar waves and therefore cannot be detected by the enemy.

I've got to hand it to the Iranians defense industry for producing and extending their military equipment throughout decades of sanctions.

Dear oh dear haven't watched the whole video but did you see the Iraqi army they are pretty well equipped the weapons and vehicles are good but I can't not help but think that it's all a waste of resources and materials

Everyone seems to be saying the Iraqi army needs to take charge but that's just making a bad situation worse

In the 10 years of training and billions of dollars spent they really are beyond incompetent

Recently a Iraqi special operations unit of 300 men was called up, out of the 300 strong unit only about 200 turned up and out of the 200 only about 100 were actually battle ready out of which about 50 actually knew what they were doing

American tax paid in excess of $40 billion for training the new Iraqi army they might as well have just spent that money on looking for aliens on Mars

There is I think little experience in forming a new army and taking it into war. How often does it occur that a new army fails as spectacularly as the Iraqi army just now or the South Korean army in 1950. In each case at least a part of the soldiers and especially the officers will have had real experience, in the Iraqi army in the previous Iraqi army, in the case of South Korea in the army of Manchukuo. The Israeli army in 1948 was succesful but had people with twenty years experience in terrorist organisations as well as having many people who had served in other armies in WWII. Can someone comment on these matters?
