Prince Salman’s visit comes as the US and Gulf states also seek to encourage Russia in support a political transition away from Mr Assad.

So, from the article, I take that the Egyptian vessel will have:

16 x SYLVER A43 VLS for 16 Aster 15 AAW missiles

...and no Sylver A70 VLS.

As to the Exocet MM40 missiles. It says four launchers. Hmmm, does that mean four missiles, or could it mean that the Egyptians will have four quad launcher for 16 missiles?

If they took away the A70s but included 16 MM40s Block 3 missiles, they would still have a strong Anti-shipping, and anti-surface attack capanbility.

Sound like the other helicopter, torpedo, 76mm gun, etc. will remain pretty much the same.

Forbin or NavyReco...any ideas?

Airbus Defence and Space has delivered the sixth and final A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) to Saudi Arabia.
Airbus also provided details about the new version of the MRTT, six of which will be delivered to Singapore as a launch customer. The amendments relate to the fact that the airframe of basic business line from which the MRTT will be converted is a new model of the A330, the main difference being the upgrade of the flight computer the plane.

Having received the type certificate EASA European civil certification authority in March 2010 and military certification authority of the Spanish INTA in October, the Airbus Military A330 MRTT is the only strategic air refueling and transport New generation currently available and operational worldwide. The large capacity base fuel payload (111 tonnes) of the A330-200 airliner, from which it is derived, enables the A330 MRTT to excel in supply missions in flight, without adding additional reservoir. The A330 MRTT is offered with a choice of refueling systems including the tail boom ARBS (Aerial Refuelling Boom System) Airbus Military and / or a pair of nacelles hose / cart Canopy and / or ventral system pipe / cart FRU (Fuselage Refuelling Unit).

Thanks to its wide fuselage, the A330 MRTT can also be used as transport aircraft capable of carrying 300 troops or 45 tonnes of payload. It may also be available in medevac Version (MEDEVAC) and receive up to 130 stretchers. The A330 MRTT to date totals 28 orders from four customers.

ARBS transfer 4600 l/mn and under-wing refuelling pods 2000 l for each.

Sorry, ShahryarHedayat, that is an Op-ed article. We have talked about posting Op-Ed articles as News. They are not.

An article that simply reports that there is a UN Report, and then links to it so readers can read and decide for themselves would be find. But an OpEd that goes into the bashing is not acceptable.

War is hell. Civilians die as a result of wars.

But to try and say that Israel is going to be, "removed from the family of nations?" Please.

I mean, just read the adjectives the article uses.to refer to Israel..."gangster," "stench," "darkest urges,", etc.

I know people in the IDF. Israel is the only nation I know of that when it goes to bomb a building that has known terrorists and insurgents in it, first contacts the people in and around the building and tells them it is about to do so and for them to get out.

The fact is, in many cases, the terrorists and insuirgents force the people to stay for precisely the reason of being able to later demean Israel.

Sentences like, "point to benighted regimes like those of North Korea, Syria and Iran in order to bewail the UN’s hypocrisy, but the fact is that it’s not the report."

So they say that nothing like that is in the UN report...but then they put it in this article for good measure.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MODERATION
