Given that Pakistan seems to be the eye of the storm so to speak in recent years, what happens there may determine a lot of things for the rest of us.

There is a lot of nervousness about Pakistan already before this occurred; hopefully this is not the first of worse things to come.

This is not good. Not good at all, for anyone, except for al Qaeda. I read somewhere that al Qaeda is claiming responsibility. Has that been confirmed yet?

The last thing anyone needs is a destabilized Pakistan, with nukes and everything.

This cowardly act may lead to a de-stablization of Pakisatin. With many factions fighting each other and the government.

I just herad a news report on FOX News stating after inital chaos the situation is calming down due to the presence of the Pakistani military & police.

I was going to post these PIX in my http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/general-pictures/daily-pictures-ii-3580.html but I feel they need to be here.

I guess between the suicide bombing and mob burning stuff, Musharaff got enough reason to re-instate the state of emergency now.

Oh well, between a nuke-armed al Qaeda and a free and fair election in Pakistan, I guess we have no choice.

Yeah all are suspecting Al Qaeda of this. However, Benazir Bhutto herself was no angel herself. She was probably the most corrupt leaders in South Asia history and her looting of the country along with pushing Pakistan near the edge of bankruptcy pushed many towards extremism, the effects of which we are seeing today in Pakistan. She had no chance in winning the upcoming elections, she didn't even have enough to form a majority against Musharraf.

Having said this, what happened was horrible and this should have never taken place...

Sorry to disagree with you Popeye, but since when are people that are prerpared to sacrifice their lives for what they believe in Cowards?

Are the posthumus holders of the VC or CM cowards?, were the Kamaikazi's?

I think most people would accept that those that unleash tremendous firepower via push button from hundreds of miles away or who drop LGB's on women and kids from 50,000ft are better designated as cowards then these.

Any people or country that cannot diferentiate this very basic fact must be in very serious trouble indeed!

When they attack un-armed innocent civilians. You must live on a different planet than I.

There's a lot more I could post on this subject but I won't. I find your comments very insulting to myself , my son and my nation.

I will post no more on this subject.

Maybe it would be prudent for this thread to be closed lest it be the occasion for unpleasantness.
