The most ambitious, largest infrastructure development program in the history of Pakistan, has been facilitated by China.
Pakistan's Prime Minister - Imran Khan and his government's objectives are first to eradicate corruption, and in doing so, recover most if not all of the wealth that has been plundered by Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and their accomplices. In this effort, the most daunting task ahead for Khan's government is the restructuring, reorganizing of all critical state institutions. When Khan's government achieves success in revamping and strengthening state institutions. Much of the looted wealth will be recovered, and most if not all corrupt politicians shall be imprisoned (for life or executed, hopefully, in-sha-Allah). The results of which would be clearly visible in how Pakistan's economy truly grows.
Stock Markets are rubbish, real economic growth comes in the form of actual citizens of Pakistan who have been imprisoned in poverty for decades, begin to reap the fruits by being able to send their children to schools, being able to afford a decent living standard and being able to positively contribute to Pakistan.
The best way Pakistan can be a worthy ally of China, is by becoming strong, united and establish a robust and powerful economy that is able to brush aside Western sanctions or Western financial crisis (that seem to miraculously occur every 2nd decade or so). Globalized economic activity is only good for a country, when those countries have built-in mechanism to shield itself from the garbage of Wall Street and City of London.
I am certain that most (true) Pakistanis are well aware of the fact that any nation which prioritizes honest governance, upholding civic duty and the law of the land. That as a country, when you stand firm in Justice, Honesty, Rule of Law with ZERO exceptions. Than not only would your friends respect you, your enemies would respect and fear you.
