You never know, perhaps they have already or are planning on integrating anti-ship missiles on F-7PGs. If such a tech capability is introduced, then all that is needed is to integrate IFR capability to these aircraft and you have a deadly combo in Pakistan Navy.

But a more realistic view is that these aircraft would be used to train and establish fighter aviation in Pakistan Navy. Gaining fighter sortie experience in preparation for future Thunder induction directly controlled and operated by Pakistan Navy.

PN is setting up a coastal defense doctrine (CDD) , more of which I have briefed in post 1143....

PN Air Arm:

Currently PN have 10-12 PC Orions along with 4 Foker 27 (MPAs)....While in upcoming few years PN will have (yet to be finalzed weather it will be under PAF or seprate PN Air Arm)...

- 4 ATR-72s (MPAs)
- 4 ZDKs for coastal monitoring, when PAF will recieve 6-8 KJ500s (currently under final negotiations)
- 1 sqdn of JF-17Bs
- 3 sqdn of Mirage (ROSE-I/II/II versions), again transfer from PAF
- 3 sgdn of F7PGs, also transfer from PAF.

The only question ... will it be under PAF umbrella or PN...Yet to be finalized...

In 2016, China and Pakistan had signed an agreement to launch a special remote sensing satellite. The main reason for signing the agreement was to monitor the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (
