I guess sanctions is really the only option? Start the Korean War 2.0? Nuclear Armageddon maybe? I mean what else can they do, it's two increasingly independant countries doing business outside of the scope of what some US officials think they control

I wonder what NorK is getting in return? Two-three squadrons of non-export "modern" Mig-29's with upgrading their current fleet of Mig-29's sounds fair to me if I was Kim. Other thn that what does NorK really need from Russia when it comes to weapon systems?

There have been rumors that North Korea will get J-10 (possibly J-10A), but there is no relevant news for the time being. You should understand that this is probably China's "last option".

Maybe North Korea can update their fighter like Syria，upgrade the existing MiG-29 to a higher standard, and receive some obsolete (relatively) stock fighters to replace the old MiG-19.

It is expensive to completely update the North Korean air force, but it can enable them to have a small number of relatively advanced fighter planes to deal with small-scale conflicts with the South.
