I honestly can not find purpose for Il-28's in these contemporary times even if they were modified considerably due to existence of both Saetbyol-4 and Saetbyol-9 while bomb bay is limited to at most dimensions of FAB-3000 of 3.3 meter length and 1 meter diameter.
Range is not great but could they be used for anti-submarine warfare ? Some Russian variant Il-28PL were carrying sonobuoys and have the capacity to carry acoustic homing torpedoes.

Long time no see you, modernized Najin-class :3

There is talk on Namu that these new destroyers will replace the Najin class... but given North Korea's longstanding tradition, I believe the ship will likely remain in service, with new upgrades to squeeze every last ounce of power possible out of the design.

The ship's biggest weakness is that it's a 60s/70s design, not stealthy, and has outdated weapons (especially the larger naval guns; the one pictured was slightly upgraded in 2014 with new anti-ship missiles and autocannons). At the very least they could redesign the superstructure and other structures to give it some mild stealth - I've seen precedent for this. To go even further, maybe add some new radars and sensors. Maybe ditch the two manned 57mm turrets and replace them with... let's see, 324mm lightweight torpedo tubes? Upgrade AK-230 turrets with AK-630-like turrets and replace two 100mm manned turrets with new 76mm auto naval guns?

An-2 would be far more suitable platform than Il-28 due to very low stall speed.
Il-28 should be retired due to airframes age and design has no viable upgrades.

It seems the SF has fully abandoned the Helical drum mag AK, which they have constantly paraded previously.
Utter nonsense that can only someone uninformed write such conclusion.
Not first nor will it be last time difference between parade and exercise.
Though difference is rifle type being used and not based on magazine.

What you saw is a training optimized Type-88 with adaptor on muzzle.

Never seen a reliable helical drum. It's nice and compact and it's a jamming hell. Helical drum mag or HELL-ical drum mag ? Not sure.
Won't be reliable with improper winding of coil, too little or too many rotations.
If it was unreliable then would not be more and more widespread to begin with.
Let alone be on soldiers guarding VIP's with 2 spare helical magazines to boot.

In 38North's article they write:
The total length from the beginning of the netting to the ship’s stern, as measured on imagery from April 6, is 144 meters.

The ship itself is covered in camouflage netting, so the exact layout and details of its configuration cannot be confirmed. Its width and general formation indicate it will likely have a helipad and hangar, similar to other modern naval combatants.

Near the ship’s bow, part of the camouflage netting has been removed, and a crane is observed. Although its purpose is unclear, it is possible work is being completed on the anchor winch mechanism, sonar subsystem , or a deck gun.
