News regarding shipbuilding.

Apparently, as with the previous 2 Amnok class and 2 Tunan class corvettes, the construction of the new class of large frigates was carried out simultaneously in two shipyards, one as the images had shown in Namp'o, west of the DPRK. And now it is indicated at the Chongjin shipyard on the east coast.
As indicated in the article and shown in the photos, at the moment the dimensions of the hull are indicated as 117 meters long by 16,
(#) but.......

( #) but from the photos it appears that the extreme bow shown in green is still missing and there appears to be a prefabricated block (shown in purple) which seems perfectly suited to be added to the stern, so I find it plausible that the ship will reach 130 meters in length.

Rumors say, that DPRK will get more mig-29 "sets".
With this, i wonder.
Thanks to Indian UPG, we know that it's possible to "pack" mig-29m2 electronics into vanilla body.
I wonder if they'll now pack a full Mig-35 into it. In theory, if former is possible, latter shouldn't be a problem either?
And then good luck telling what's inside there.

Would be an interesting way for Russia to make Sokol useful for the ongoing war effort.

How many operated by VKS tho ? It's kinda like looking at Ka-50. It got upgrades but no real operations.

Who knows if what they are doing for the SU-75 in terms of electronics and modern cockpits can also be integrated to modernize the old Mig-29s.

Well radar wise MiG platform has always been NIIP Phazotron's domain, while Sukhoi platform is NIIP Tikhomirov. and NIIP Tikhomirov's best offer for MiG-29 platform was Bars-29, which unfortunately going nowhere.

but since Russia has merged the Sukhoi and MiG industries into one company under the UAC - the United Aircraft Corporation, cooperation can intensify and jointly develop appropriate solutions for the MiG-29 as well

0,since 1991 mig-29 is export product. Mig-29m("m2") isn't even in Russian service. Smt(r)s bought in 2010s to support factory are basically withdrawn from frontline service, too.

But it's a regularly updated platform (every 10 years roughly), and that's the whole point - DPRK can get modern multirole, which Russia will gladly deliver.

Whatever Sokol can deliver isn't as useful to Russia as ammo and guns.

And DPRK would really really benefit from modern interceptors.
