Are the the 9-10K ton DDG and 18K ton DDG/CG separate projects?

Of course. The size difference between these two warships alone are too massive from them to be managed under the same project umbrella.

So, possibly a Sino-ASEV with the purported 1.2-meter-diameter VLS cells for HHQ-29, then.

Strictly hypothetically speaking (and assuming that the information is accurate) - I'd wish that this 18000-ton ship retains the same number of 850mm VLS cells as the 055 DDGs (i.e. 112x), if not reduced to 96x - Then add 16-32x 1200mm LVLS cells on it, with half of the cells loaded with navalized HQ-29 and the other half loaded with navalized DF-17.

That's from a rando on Rednote, no real connection to this, he really only posted it as "It is possible to resemble this" as a ship with a zumwalt style superstructure but conventional hull.
