The British used the ocean liner QEII to transport troops during the Falklands war. I believe any nation, including the US, would use civilian transports when resources are stretched.

The difference being they are being quite open about it. During the Second world war the Queen Mary ferried troops across the Atlantic usually sailing alone and relying on her speed to outrun any German U boats.
However to have any similarity to what A. mace is suggesting, the Queen Mary would be sailing in convoy and hiding amongst other civilian passenger ships, using the guise of a civilian passenger ship to prevent her from being attacked.

You might recall the Lusitania, sunk in WWi by the Germans withthe loss of over a thousand lives, many of them civilians. and causing outrage in America
The Germans defended the sinking as she was also secretly carrying munitions and other goods to help the British war effort.

You didn't know the landing strip is close to civilian houses?

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

For all I know the landing strip could have been there first. The civilian houses became established because of possible employment nea rthe base? Rather than a deliberate decision to locate the base next to civilian homes for protectionfrom attack?

True, but it's still too close for comfort. Time to move it somewhere else along the island or leave completely, therefore taking the bulls eye with them.

If it's earthquake tested like the video shows, this might work well in post disaster relief.

How long does it take to build this skyscraper 360 days or 360 hours?
From a technological POV it's a beefed up version of Socialist apartment creation with prefabricated parts.

If it's supposedly earthquake tested and more energy efficient than average, why care? It's not like all of China is going to built this way. And by the looks of it, they could probably recycle most of it. Hence why it would probably be great for post disaster relief.

My friend lives out in a new housing development in what used to be farmland in California which was a development of KB. You basically had five models to choose from meaning they're modular designs and nothing unique between them. An then comes the class action lawsuit because everyone experienced water running through the walls when it rained because of a design flaw.

The only difference is the name.

Yep I agreed. I'm in the architectural design and construction field, and KB and Perry homes are a few of the worst developers in North America. They cut corners in everything they do from millworks (cabinets), plumbing utilities, rebar spacing on foundations, framing materials (used mostly young trees) and constructed mostly by Hispanics, so therefore it's cheap and fast to build. And last they use one set of construction documents for each of their cookie cutting home models when they build it all over the country.

Surely each state must have its own building codes. After all a home designed for Sunny California/ Nevada etc may not be suitable for Tornado Alley or areas of high rainfall or heavy snow falls.
