The problem with Linux distributions is that it misses a huge company of the level of Microsoft, Apple or huawei making a distribution. Not sure if people can still claim Android is a Linux distribution.Linux is still buggy. I am on Deepin OS and today when I opened my computer it said "Updates required, please download." So I downloaded and installed updates, however when it got to the last update the "Updating..." bar was stuck there for ages. When I tried to restart my computer, it said "APK file is installing, please do not shut down or restart." So I was afraid of doing anything, but when researching the issue I found another person had the same problem and just cold booted. I cold booted and it came back up fine with the update (!)
So yeah, if they want to make Linux the basis of an alternative they really need to improve the stability of the platform.
The Linux kernel is mostly sponsored for the server/backend tasks not the user office productivity task like macos or windows.
