Relax, Huawei got a stockpile. There will be no disruption in their base station production for 5G in the coming future.

As for the phones, Huawei was nowhere five years ago. It will not take five years to replace all those chips the Americans forbade TMSC to sell to Huawei. Then Huawei phones have the prefect marketing story. Pff ... what a way to defeat an opponent ... give Ren Zhenfei advantages he can use!

Only Huawei and SMIC are banned by the US government, which is kind of stupid.

There could be smuggling of chips, but the Chinese won't even do that, because it probably will not be necessary.

The US government only wants to ban two Chinese companies so they do not become behemoths, but still want to sell to all other Chinese companies.

Uncle Sam acting like a spoiled brat.

Make a couple moves, and the brat will be taken care very easily. At least that is what I have observed in the real world.

Someone is misjudged the competitive landscape!

So the sanctions don't make sense if their goal is to punish SMIC for supplying to the military.

Chinese military has its own specialize equipment for Chips.
