Huawei's rotating chairman Guo Ping mentioned earlier, "We will continue to invest in HiSilicon while helping our front-end partners improve and build their capabilities. I believe we will have an even stronger HiSilicon in a few years."

That is pure nonsense from journalists that know nuts about telco. The so-called indigenous solution is merely a mix of equipments from existing providers like Ericsson and Nokia. Vietnam also make the same claim.
This coming from a company whose total revenue is not even 1/5 of Huawei's R&D budget.
Yes, ARM china is partially owned by China's sovereign wealth fund. Supposedly it will be spun off as a seperate entity.
Didn't Huawei, a few yrs ago, send its source codes to India to b examined by their security office?
Also, huawei's worldwide network monitoring center is located in India, it was built like 10 yrs ago, no?

Sorry but India likes attention. They also don't want to be left behind. Like when hypersonic tech was first being talked about and they said there was a race between leading powers, India inserted themselves in there like they were part of the conversation all along. They were spinning how the Brahmos made them a member of the club. Yeah it technically goes at hypersonic speeds but that's not the hypersonic tech they were talking about. Now there's all this talk about who's going to win the 5G race. Of course India all of the sudden has been a part of that discussion. I'm sure when India was banning Chinese apps, they were telling themselves they were holding up China's economy and took down the dragon.
