Well, well, well. Now China's CNBM has becoming the first company globally to do mass production of T1200 Carbon Fiber. I'm assuming it will be a while until they get to where CSST Group is now with T1100, but this is still a big deal.
I always thought that the Japanese had already achieved this.
For someone not keeping up regularly, the advancements in here are amazingly fast. This is now 3 months in a row, where I'm reading about advancements in Chinese carbon fiber mass production.
This is a 2026 Jan article about T1000-grade CF mass production in Datong, Shanxi
This is a 2026 Feb article about T1100-grade CF mass production in Langfang, Hebei
Now in 2026 Mar, I'm seeing this report about T1200-grade CF mass production
well, China got to T1000 a lot earlier than that Datong plant. Those are just propaganda articles.
CSST has had T1100 CF in stable production for a while now and so has 恒神股份, 永成新材料 and Sinofiber recently.
The issue is actually getting to stable production + validation with customers. That takes a while. Only CSST seems to have gotten stable production + validation with customers on T1100.
Update. I got confused a little bit actually. So this is actually Zhongfu zhenying, which is a CNBM subsidiary. The product is SYT80. We got news at end of last year when it said lab work for T1200 had completed.
also of note is that Hengshen also said it is about to start T1200 production.
With T1200 currently being the leading edge in the carbon fibre domain, here's wondering wondering what we can expect next. Perhaps China will be the one to successgully develop (and put into production) the next generations of carbon fibre (T1300, T1400, T1500 etc)?
