If you are a high calibre PHD who has worked with the best outside China, this is probably the best time for your career. Like China will literally give you a high position and your own lab and team to come home and invent something crazy.

he is Chinese national..

but even number of Japanese scientists are moving to China for research positions, drawn by opportunities in China's growing research landscape and more stable research environments compared to Japan..

in China it is very easy to open research labs.

Holy shit, for real? I remember just like 2 years ago, American nuclear power dwarfed China's. Even France gave us a good challenge. And just like that, China's on top? I was thinking I must have remembered wrong until I found the 2023 list:
