With students who blatantly steal other people’s research is it any wonder that Stanford has dropped out?

Stanford and other ivy league were always the golden networking opportunity for elite kids and real talents primarily Judeo-Wasps and East Asians and it worked for so long since it was a win win scenario, Now that the bamboo ceiling is getting even lower and continues to do so every year while China and by extent Asia Pacific region getting more opportunities natural talents will flock there leaving only the frat boys with the universities, Reminds me what my mentor said once, If you're greedy you better be competent as well or your decision will come back to haunt you!

I wonder how much of the drop of US research institutions can attributed to China initiative.

Definitely looks like the United States needs more Chinese talent in gender studies and liberal arts, not STEM and doing research.

And let's not forget how much the United States needs Chinese talent to learn the federalist documents, there is a significant lack of federalist document experts in the top US research labs,

When the alternative is bamboo ceiling even cramming for XJP thoughts three hours a day is appealing.

I just heard in the news one talking head in some forum was suggesting that Chinese students were given places in American Universities in social subjects/fields and Indian students in science/engineering fields for security reasons.

Edit: I just saw tokenanalyst's post on that news.

However, tensions with the U.S. have meant more opportunities for FiberHome, as Beijing has begun a drive to become self-sufficient in undersea cable technology, ramping up orders for domestic producers like them, Wu said. “When it comes to submarine communication cables, China can manufacture all components. We don’t need foreign technologies,” he insisted.
