So based on the section below, I can add one more possibility:

According to China’s customs data, the US, Vietnam and Singapore were the top-three importers of Chinese aerospace products specified on the list in the first four months of the year.

The US, India and Vietnam were the top-three importers of restricted goods related to gas turbines in the same period. Gas turbines can be used in warships and in large vehicles such as tanks.

The restrictions also cover ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibre, which can be used for protective equipment such as bulletproof helmets, body armour, bulletproof inserts and bulletproof plates.

Major export destinations for the material between January and April were Brazil, Vietnam, the US and Israel.

There are also restrictions on molds designed to make spacesuit visors, which are likely to affect countries such as Mexico, the US and Vietnam.

Given the US is in the top 3 of importers for these goods, this is a very real supply chain blow to the US.
China is not restricting exports of gas turbine and aero engine part. They are only restricting the export of the tools used for making those parts

fyi, already posted in economics thread, but this is the better place for it

What does it mean for China to impose export controls on something that it is probably behind the West on. Or at least that's my perception
Honestly the only thing I can think of is that it’s targeted at Ukraine and Russia. The release put a lot of emphasis on nonproliferation so that’s the only thing I can think of. If these exports are going to Ukraine and Russia they must be going through a third country along the way though.

The US is within the top 3 importers of those product categories from China.

Spacesuit visors! Why would Mexico and Vietnam want it?

Let me tell you something, this things gives you the same quality as a 6000 CAD TV from Samsung. LOLOLOL. As I live in North America Chinese cars are not sold here. There is limited opportunities to experience China's tech evolutions and advancements. Well now I have, man this is absolutely astounding. Proud to be CHINESE!!!
