I thought that such a robot is controlled remotely by the doctor. If the doctor shook, wouldn't the robot, too?

I guess every kind of movement will be transmitted remotely unless there is such a function as preprogramming a certain fine movement which is certainly possible IMO. And then with microsurgery, I guess movements are demagnified to quite a degree from the human side to the robotic hand.

PetroChina has developed new tech for putting hydrogen in natural gas pipes (up to 24%). Not really sure how this works for long range hydrogen transmission, but seems like something that can be used to slowly use hydrogen also for heating and such. It's critical for firms like Sinopec, PetroChina and CNOOC to get involved in hydrogen supply chain with their expertise in building pipelines, transporting hydrocarbon, using hydrogen in refineries and building refueling stations.

Anybody know which are the largest Chinese companies specializing in metal and mechanical components for automotive and industrial applications (like Siemens, Bosch, Thyssenkrupp, Federal-Mogul)?

: "Chinese-Brazilian cooperation in science and health reaches a new level"

The two countries are going to sign an agreement that creates the Sino-Brazilian Center for Research and Prevention of Infectious Diseases. The announcement of the unprecedented agreement is scheduled for this Thursday, in Beijing.

This is an initiative of Fiocruz and the CAS-TWAS Center of Excellence for Emerging Infectious Diseases (CEEID), through the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) is the most prominent Institution of Science and Technology in Health in Latin America, based in Brazil.

The center will also develop rapid diagnostic tests, therapies, vaccines and drugs.

Among the diseases that will be studied, some affect both countries, such as Covid-19. Others, such as yellow fever, affect Brazil more, but have attracted Chinese interest.

Brazil and China share the vision of healthcare as public goods, such as vaccines, medicines and diagnostic tests.
Brazil, the world's most biodiverse country, can be a boon to China in biotechnology. Brazil has interesting native herbal medicines that can be used to discover new chemical compounds and medical treatments. In terms of pure science, the Amazon rainforest can provide shortcuts to fundamental biology breakthroughs. As noted before on this thread, biotech is one of the rare fields China relatively lags in. It's important to find allies to partner with in research.

and was a bit disappointed there is no Brazil-China developments on space currently except for the CBERS program. If they're inviting Venezuela to the International Lunar Research Station I don't see a reason why not also Brazil.

China’s rapeseed breakthrough could yield abundant winter crops, boost seed self-reliance

  • A new variety of rapeseed – with a shorter growth cycle, increased cold tolerance, and earlier fertility – is being tested, and it could take advantage of vacant winter farmland
  • Application of new rapeseed variety could increase China’s self-sufficiency in vegetable oil by about 12 percentage points
Chinese scientists have made a breakthrough in improving the yield of rapeseed plants, potentially leading to increased domestic production and less reliance on imported vegetable oil.
The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) is testing its new rapeseed variety in eastern China’s Jiangxi province, with an aim to take advantage of idle fields during the winter months.
“As China’s major oilseed crop, rapeseed accounts for half of the domestically produced oil, and there are more than 64 million mu [about 4.27 million hectares, or 10.6 million acres] of unused fields in the winter after the rice-planting season. This creates huge potential for rapeseed expansion and production,” Wang Xinfa, a CASS researcher, was quoted as saying in an interview with the official Science and Technology Daily.

GaN charger is all the rage now. Xiaomi has come out with a new 67W 3rd gen GaN charger across 3 ports. Keep in mind that iPhone's fast charger only does 20W Amazing to see how much commercialization of GaN technology is affecting different industries
That is less than half of OnePlus' 65W GaN charger sold in EU.

As I understood from another source, at the destination Hydrogen will be separated from natural gas. So Hydrogen is more likely being used as vehicle fuel rather than heating.

What I am convinced by doing this is the source of Hydrogen. The western part of China where sun and wind is abundant is short of water, so making green hydrogen from water is a bad idea leading to other disasters. The other way is blue hydrogen from fossil fuel (also very clean). But why not produce blue hydrogen at the destination? One possible application is to produce green hydrogen in the east then transfer to inland for hydrogen powered vehicles, the report is a demo of such capability, but not going to be the real application.
