Inexplicable decision unless there are some Western threats happening in the background.
Probably just short term precautions, nothing new here, the same goes for Huawei, everything has to be recalibrated now. I am more surprised that the Russian didn't expect that after the sanctions they would have to recalibrate how they will do business or collaborate other countries, even friendlier ones.
There is another possibility. China would rather want Russia to finish the war sooner than later. Being neutral, even with sympathy towards Russia's security concerns, does not mean that China wants to see the war dragging indefinitely. It's hurting the world, China included.

Evil Chinese selective breeding dogs for their own vanity. The Chinese Tibetan Mastiff is not allowed in Western dog shows to compete because the Chinese did something unnatural to them to make them not a pure breed.
Nevermind... the Chinese Tibetan mastiff is 100% a Tibetan Mastiff with 0% genetic disorders.
The English bulldog was bred to have a flatter nose along with the breathing problems that come with it. When they do it, it's okay. But when the Chinese do it, there has to be something nefarious going on.

The Tibetan Mastiff is out for reach for the budget of 99.9% of the people on this planet. The dog breed is very very rare at dog competition.
