Seems to heard from various sources that 99B uses a new engine and transmission as the original 150HB powerpack although on paper caught up to western mainstream at the time was in fact pretty mid in real life with shotty reliability and also apparently terrible high altitude performance.Interior is likely extensively different to A.
A's equipment represents China's technology of the early 2010s/2000s.
A's immature design and manufacturing processes led to initial mid-2010 high failure rate, numerous leaks and unsatisfactory adaptability in some extreme environments.
B represents China's tank advancements in the 2020's with rapid technological advancements in the past decade.
B is to address many of the shortcomings of A.
AFAIK, 99B will probably continue to be produced for a while as a filler tank to replace all stuff from before the late 90s (96, 96A, 88, 79 etc), same with ZBD04B. While Type 100 replaces the units down south and new 4th gen MBT (Possibly the 7 wheeler?) replaces the original Type 99A units.
