Not really sky. The Russians have remote weapons stations, a fair autoloader and active counter measures. So I don't see them suffering undue hardship in urban

Well, I mean, the only real competitor for the PLAGF is the Russian armed forces, and once they upgrade to Armata they will have better tanks than their Chinese equivalents. But going on an arms race with the Russians, when both countries are threatened by the West, is worse than foolhardiness.

And while the WZ-10's combat capability against the latest Western tanks is doubtful, as a helicopter, it is relatively easy to upgrade its missile. Just pack a bigger warhead on a heavier missile, add maneuvering thrusters for top attack, and presto, you have a fairly good chance at achieving at least a mission kill on impact.

The Z-10's weaknesses lie in its underpowered engine, resulting in less armor and probably also the smaller caliber chin gun. But if it has competent sensors and AGMs then it could still be an effective tank killer.

I know there are multiple T-54/55 upgrade programs around the world to keep these machines serving for even longer than they have but I really hope China moves on from these dolled up museum pieces.

Camouflage makes me think they are going to be exported. There is also that blue logo in every tanks skirt, how often Chinese army uses logos like that?

Yeah, export seems most likely. An African country I suppose? I don't think any country in the Middle East cares for Type 59s any more, even if they are upgraded.

Why would Nigeria go for T-59+ tanks? They have the economy to afford better equipment.

They could Afford better tanks Sure, But most of there neighbors don't have Armor, against insurgency type 59 would do fine
