VT-1A is low cost version of Type-99,same gun,same FCS.same electronic.
according to the chinese website VT-1A is compatible to russia T-80,ironic, more than 200 plus T-80BV were destroyed in chenchya. russia quickly replace all there T-80 tank with T-55 tank.in Chenchya.

That must have been quite the Oh Crap moment. Is that why most if not all T-80's are bricked up like lego toys with ERAs today?

no way, the crew are not going to survive,since ammo are likely to brew up.whole tank will end up like crematorium for crews.

What I'm saying the crews will not be able to survive the shock and explosion caused by the shell alone, coming through the turret. Or you have evidence proving otherwise?

Wow.. Do you know Type 99 MBT is never for sale? So how does China is happy to give the latest Technology?

That is why VT-1A existed. It was based on Type96 MBT and trying to incoporate the best possible export technology for foreign customer. Type99 MBT is never for sale. This is a hard fact.

Comparable to T 80 does not mean VT-1A is gonna have same armor and electronics. Importantly there are many versions of T 80. So its not ironic.

I wouldn't worry about challenge. Citing 'Chinese website' is about as informative as citing 'Indian website' or 'American website'. I find one just now that tells me the Earth is flat.
