Re: New members introductions - New members Introduce yourselves
Nihao, and Hi.
Doc AV is my webname, and it fairly describes me (Dr. of both Medicine and Jurisprudence) I still practice in criminal law (gun related) and run a Movie Gun Hire Business in Australia. Gave up medical practice 20 years ago.
My Chinese friends know me as Fan Shi-de. I speak very little Putonghua, but can differentiate ( roughly) a Chinese (North-South) speaker from a Korean or Japanese. The other Chinese Dialects/minority Languages have me puzzled.
I have been collecting things Chinese (Books, Histories, Firearms) for many years, and have visited China several times on business and pleasure, with my son acting as translator (BA Major in Mandarin etc).
I surf the webboards regularly for firearms related sites ( past 7 years) and am quite pleased to find such a site as this. I joined this morning.
Looking for technical information on both old and recent Chinese Firearms, the pre-WW II Arsenals and plants, and the involvement of Westerners in the growth of the Chinese Ordnance Industry since 1891.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you.
Regards,
Doc AV
