Hi guys. I'm seanlcs. A Chinese Malaysian staying in Singapore. 47 years old. A working professional in healthcare. Bumped into SDF when I'm curious about the semiconductor & Taiwan issues. Very interesting to read the inputs from knowledgeable members. I'm interested in topics such as semiconductors, aircraft engines, electric vehicles, energy resources, Xinjiang region, freedom in China, etc. I'm looking forward the day when China no longer labeled as technology thief, low-quality brand or communist. :)

Low Quality is due to the West wanting cheaper products so China delivered with the low budget, you cannot expect to receive a high quality product with a low budget. The main take away is that China can produce what it is set out to do regardless of constraints, this is why no other country is an industrial factory power house like China is, no one else in the world could compete with the might of the Chinese Industrial Factory of the world. And at this point no one can compete with China's place in Industrial production as it has spent the last 20 year fortifying its place and anyone else challenging this would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Being labelled as a technology thief doesn't mean anything other than propaganda and trying to shame a nation or people into having a disadvantage. Technological superiority is a huge deal when it comes to warfare, through the ages this has been proven time and time again, the most glaring example being European enslavement of the African continent, the Imperialist had Machine Guns and the tribes of Africa had bows and spears. This is a core human fundamental in how we learn and develop, we watch others and learn, we improve from seeing it and being taught we learn from each other to better ourselves. Every nation practices the art of "stealing technology" otherwise we fall into obscurity, pretty sure it's an excuse for the West if China comes up with something revolutionary and they steal it they'll just say "we're getting one back for all the years they stole from us" to have the moral high ground, psyops at it's finest, don't fall for it and correct all critics.

When the West "steal from each other" it's not called that because they're "allies" but it's still stealing.

Well, hello guys
I am WLFlatplace, from China. I'm now doing Bachelor of Science at the University of Technology Sydney. As a international student, I sometimes encounter very unfriendly remarks about Chinese people and China in my daily life, which used to make me very unapproachable (like a cactus!). After I found this forum, the rational discussion atmosphere here made me realize that there are still many people in the world who can be friends.
Thank you all ; )

Hey,

I am HighGround. I am an immigrant from a post-Soviet country living in America. I graduated with a degree in Econ, did some graduate studies in Econ before taking a "break". Currently work in government (nothing fancy, just local bureaucracy). I've always had a strong interest in military affairs, I tend to specialize in Russia as I am fluent in Russian. I've probably made some of the worst posts possible on PLA in r/LCD a few years ago, but I've been trying hard to learn a lot from my mistakes.

Looking forward to learning more on this Forum and maybe even managing to make a useful contribution to some of the discussions.

Hello,

I am ShardsOfSand, a Chinese American new college grad in CS. I currently work in robotics on the East Coast. I was never really interested in military/geopolitical stuff till online classes during COVID bored me out of my mind. I'm a lurker and am mostly here for the pretty pictures and reading other people's discussions.

Thanks for having me!

It would be interesting to have the first-hand experiences of a Chinese American here re opportunities, attitudes and discrimination, so don't be shy about posting them please!

Hi guys. I came across this forum while reading some news online.
I am Ghislain, 33 years old, I'm French/British(born grew up in France and moved to Britain 8 years ago), Live in London at the moment. Work as a logistics manager with Bouygues. I like international relations which I do follow during my free time. I actually i am more of an observer when it comes to geo politics, since I know as a common civilian we can't change much. So I always try and have a rational view of things and not being too bias towards one side.
Anyway, I have gone through some threads here on Sinodefence and I was positively surprised to see most members here are quite professional, knowledgeable and the forum seems to be well moderated . So I decided to register and contribute my own views. Sorry if my English is not perfect, I'm more comfortable with French.
Hope to have a good exchange of views with my fellow members on here. A bientôt mes amis
