J-10 seems to carry plenty of AAMs and glide bombs...

Is that some photo shoot preparation? With a mockup of the plane? The choice of location seems very strange, too strange for any sort of PLAAF photo shoot.

It's a retired J-10 prototype with export-oriented payload preparing for exhibition in front of AVIC I headquater in Beijing. It carries two PL-9C SRAAMs, four SD-10 MRAAMs and two LS-6 glide bombs.

Note the dual AAM rack on the middle pylon.

Its still a mock up but the mock up is significant for its intentions, and because its factory.

Production Resumes at Chengdu

The People's Daily is reporting that production resumed at Chengdu five days after the earthquake:

What is absent, is an assessment of the longer term effects of the quake on the region's infrastructure. There could be production delays down the line if parts cannot be delivered from elsewhere because rail lines or roads have been damaged.

There are a lot of pics of a J-10 "mock up" being set to display which I believe to be CAC or Avic's headquarters. Might be in Chengdu.

The plane is too detailed to be a mock up and it appears to be the shell of a decommissioned J-10 prototype. It seems to clue on a number of things, including the use of the PL-9C for an export variant; the use of the LS-6 glide bomb; the use of dual racks for BVRAAM. Too many pics to post, so just browse the link.

one of the chief draw back of MFD for fighter aircraft is the display itself is quite small, smaller than your laptop computer display.

J-10's MFDs still use CRTs, that's because the design of the panel goes back to the late nineties. The JF-17 on the other hand, uses LCDs, but then again, the design of the panel is made within this decade.
