I wanna ask about the Xiaomi SU7.
So, old news, but remember the highway accident months ago that involved the SU7?
I wanna know the context and clues of what we know about that accident.
Was the SU7's autopilot malfunctioning? Or was it just dumb kids speeding, leading to their demise?

The main theory is that the driver reclined the seat to sleep while engaging the autopilot mode at night. When the vehicle entered a highway construction zone without decelerating, it detected an imminent lane change ahead and issued warnings. The driver attempted to take control, but due to insufficient brake input and incorrect steering input, the car collided with a road barrier at high speed.
However, since no official accident report has been released yet, the above remains speculative.

Xiaomi YU7 is probably one of the most important EV launches of the year. It will be a strong competitor of Tesla Model Y and may well replace it as one of the best selling electric SUV in China.
CATL will start battery-swapping business in Europe in the future.
I’m not sure if this is “NEV” (it’s PHEV), but this video is a good look at the underbody of the GWM cannon, which is china’s major player in the Australian Ute market. Seems well built. A lot of people in the comments seem impressed that it isn’t as bad as people would think for a “Chinese vehicle”.

There's this fucking Indian guy who talked shit about the guy, calling it 'Temu-sengue' or something.
He also talked about how Chinese EV is not good because they try to compete with Tesla(??).
I mean, I know that Tesla cars aren't the best, but they are still big competitors so it makes sense that other Chinese automakers set Tesla as a benchmark.
I'm not sure if that guy will ever drive a Chinese EV to actually try out for himself, but given his country's politics, I guess he'd never know.

Tesla was a catalyst in the Chinese market to kick start EV supply chains at scale, triggering deeper investments by Chinese EV companies and wannabes. Just like Apple was a catalyst for kick starting smart phone supply chains at scale, leading to Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, etc. being the juggernauts they are today in the Chinese smart phone market.
