New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Major
Is it actually under the driver's seat, like in the cabin itself?

I can already predict that's going to become a talking point for BYD haters, like oh BYDs have a bomb under your butt etc
All EVs have batteries under the passenger cabin, although not directly under the seats inside the passenger compartment.

The locally produced Neta V-II is powered by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from Chinese battery maker Gotion High-tech, with 44 percent of the components of the pack produced in Indonesia.

Talking about Gotion:
Gotion has signed a new cooperation agreement to work with two partners on energy storage and new material development in Spain.

Just some nice imagines of Fang Cheng Bao Super 3 concept. The Bao 3 will be based on it. I think it will be selling like hot cakes.

regarding the 2000+ km BYD Qin: is there a catch? I mean the hybrid with the most range right now in the developed world is the 2023 Lexus ES, with 700 miles or 1100km. For China to completely outrange the best in automotive tech, this is absolutely insane!

well, one of the vloggers did a range test of hybrid accord vs Qin L on just fuel tank alone. Qin L travelled 1977 km and Accord did 1200 km. Qin L does have a large fuel tank 65L, so that helps too

GWM is not a great automaker

BYD reports 331.8K sales in May, especial noticeable jump in Yuan & Qin family as well as N7. Sea Lion 07 had 3400 sales in its first month of sales

BYD unveiled E3.0 platform for coaches this week, the first coach to use it is B12

It also showcased a range of Forklift & AGV batteries, including the first sodium ion battery in blade pack. Pretty good stuff
Not questioning BYD and other Chinese automakers are doing well in China and markets in the global south plus a few Western markets like Australia and NZ. According to the article BYD was selling even fewer cars than GWM in Germany, European markets are a hard nut to crack, especially the ones with their own auto industry.

Also the pricing of Chinese EVs in Europe is just uncompetitive currently, that needs to change IMHO. Perhaps they need to bypass partner distributors and dealers and go direct like Tesla.

Terrible idea, at least with dealers, some Europeans are able to make some money. If Chinese EV companies went the direct purchase model in Europe, Chinese EVs would be banned or 100% tariffed in no time.

BYD is not happy with its dealers in Europe. I think it's fine. There will always be hurdles when you enter a market as competitive as Europe. It's not going to be smooth sailings everywhere. BYD will learn the political game in Europe eventually
