This is big news if true. However, China Daily has deleted the original article. Maybe they don't want to disturb the competition? But it's too late - the news is already widely reported.

China will likely spend about RMB 6 billion yuan ($830 million) on all-solid-state battery R&D, state-owned China Daily said in a report today, citing multiple sources.

Six companies, including CATL, BYD, China FAW Group, SAIC Motor Corp, Beijing WeLion New Energy Technology and Geely Auto Group, will likely receive basic R&D support from the government, the report said.

They went 2500KM on empty battery, gas alone. The battery was drained when they started, they never charged the battery.

In one of the test videos on bilibili, Qin L reached 2327.7km of range starting with full tank and full battery. Air-conditioning was set to 24°C or 75°F (it is already quite hot in most of China). They did drive at relatively low speeds, which will improve fuel efficiency. Cruise control appeared to have been set at 80km/h, and the overall average speed was 62km/h over 37.4 hours of driving time due to traffic congestion on some stretches of the test.

This isn't really "big news". It's a drop in the bucket really.
828 million shared between companies already making profits from EVs is peanuts. Like finding $5 in between couch cushions.

Canadian governments are ready to give $5B worth of cash and tax credits to a single company with zero self-developed EVs in their lineup (Honda Prologue is a Chevy Blazer rebadge)

Can't wait to pay 60k for the car when it releases in Australia. Generally all Chinese imports have had a huge mark up when compared to Chinese prices, even then they are still offering a better deal than other brands.
