It's cheaper to send them from Shenzhen rather than this way. Logistics over Caspian sea exist, but they're seriously not worth it.

Uzbekistan=custom union=Russian market; otherwise it is more or less a dead end in the middle of central Asia.
How do you find market for 500k in Central Asia?

Uzbekistan itself has 37M people. Kazakhstan has another 20M. So I would not say the Central Asian markets are totally irrelevant. Probably over 20M in the other CIS Central Asian countries. But their people have a lot less purchasing power than Russians. So you would be selling mostly budget cars.

Does this mean my previous prediction about Italy not getting Chinese EV plant is right? Chery is building EV in Spain and I'm expecting BYD to announce EV factory when President Xi visits France next month. Italy isn't going to get Chinese EV factories, especially not after leaving BRI.

It is pretty smart to place a BYD factory in France. The major opponent of Chinese EV imports into the EU is probably Stellantis.
Having a Chinese EV factory in France might help defuse some of that. Plus France has probably some of the lowest energy prices in Europe. The only problem is the constant worker strikes in France.

Uzbek market is 377k full year. Definitely not enough to support a 500k plant. Remember, part of the reason to have a plant in Uzbekistan is avoiding tariffs in countries like Turkey

Leapmotor is pretty much guaranteed to have one in Italy
