Big news: Yadea (the world's largest 2-wheeler EV OEM) has partnered with another Chinese firm to produce the world's first sodium-battery powered 2-wheeler.

We mostly focus on cars here, but it's important to remember that 2-wheelers are still a very big market for middle-income and lower-income countries. The EV transition for them is just as important.
it's the right place to post it. I actually was about to post it yesterday, but forgot to click post reply

Yadea just came out with a sodium ion battery powered 2-wheel called 极钠S9. Should have all the advantages we already talked about with SIB. This seems to be among the first mass produced vehicles to use SIB

Now, NIU announced last year that it is coming out with SIB powered 2-wheelers this year, but I haven't seen it been put on the market yet.

rumors swirling that one of the Japanese automakers is bailing out of the Chinese market
1.jpg

Japanese automakers have steadily lost market share since 2015. Toyota used to be #6 but not even top 10 now. Hyundai was #3 as late as 2015 and it has also fallen out. Seems like what siegecrossbow said was true. Korean & Japanese OEMs sold inferior models in the market and reality has caught up to them.
