The day has finally arrived: China will export a 100% domestic luxury passenger car to Europe for the first time (if my memory is correct) - the Hongqi E-HS9 electric SUV. It will go to Norway first this year.
The car is 5209 mm/205 inch long and has a range of 500-600 km/300-375 mile.
$110k is not that bad considering how everything is more expensive now.

Yeah I have a used Toyota Camry 2015 that I bought for $16K in 2018 with only 7K miles on it cus it was my mom's friend's and she was moving to China. I wouldn't have bought it cus I said I didn't wanna be seen driving a Japanese car but then my mom told me that if I didn't get it, she'd sell it back to the dealer and they'll probably only give her like $10K for it and sell it for $19K cus it's basically brand new so if I bought it, I was taking $9K away from Toyota instead of giving them anything. That sold me. If it wasn't for that, I was gonna get a 2015 Sonata with 40K miles on it for $11K. I would spend $25K mayyyyyybbee $30K for a Hongqi family van but that's about it. I'm a utility guy; I will never buy a luxury car no matter how much I make because to me, luxury cars signify lack of confidence and attention-seeking personality.I mean those Teslas are atleast $50k. I really question the business model of importing a 100k plus luxury vehicle to a market that has no familiarity with the brand and has little support structure. I too bought a Volvo recently, the xc60. Only set me back 65k CAD so it's not bad for a luxury vehicle. My father told me a story about his friend who is a very successful top lawyer and partner in a big law firm. In an interview, when asked what sort of car he drove, he said "I really don't know, its just a brown coloured one" and another one of his friends who was a self made dairy farmer left his money which amounted to over $100 million to the Catholic Church because he did not want his step children to enjoy it. During his lifetime he only bought second hand clothes and cars. My father said he could have framed the first dollar he earned, except he was too mean to buy one.
Does it sound like Honky when pronounced? That would put a white guy off. Ford stuffed up the Volvo brand.
Volvo had a complete revamp after Geely took over. The old Volvo's are basically Ford on the inside, which means they will start having problems during the test drive.
