FCB in Q4 hitting new height. Over 10k in December.
This just happens to be a year where their PHEV tech got ahead of BEV. Next year, things will even out.Interesting that PHEVs have EVs for BYD in terms of growth rate across 2024 (+73% vs. +12%) and also raw numbers (2.49m sales vs. 1.77m). Does this trend owe to BYD PHEV models being cheaper than equivalent EV models, or newer and more exciting? Higher levels of competition in the EV space than for PHEVs? Concerns regarding adequacy of charging infrastructure and positive value being attributed to flexibility of PHEV powertrain?
From what I have seen online, many Chinese currently driving ICE vehicles still have concerns on inadequate infrastructure. Some sound simply uninformed. But most of the concerns are probably legit. Many posters from less developed parts of the country pointed out that charging stations in their surroundings are not as common as in the top tier cities, in particular on lower grade roads connecting small towns and villages.Interesting that PHEVs have so EVs for BYD in terms of growth rate across 2024 (+73% vs. +12%) and also raw numbers (2.49m sales vs. 1.77m).
